The following is the first paragraph of the first chapter, "Frustration," of Peace of Soul by Bishop Fulton J. Sheen:
Unless souls are saved, nothing is saved; there can be no world peace unless there is soul peace. World wars are only projections of the conflicts waged inside the souls of modern men, for nothing happens in the external world that has not first happened within a soul.I thought this would be a good couple of sentences for you to think about, especially as you work towards becoming a leader in the Church (especially if you ever become a bishop (or pope)). In fact, I'd love to hear your thoughts, over email, phone or Skype. Also, I recommend reading this book if you have not (or anything by Bishop Sheen, really).
I'm praying for you!
