At the request of His mother, Christ used His first public miracle to create alcohol. His first public miracle created between 120 and 180 GALLONS of high-quality wine.
I always laugh when people claim that Christians shouldn't drink alcohol, because I'm pretty sure that a LOT of people got extremely inebriated off of Christ's first public miracle.
All that aside, though, Jesus didn't make wine because He thought it would be funny to see drunk people, or because He wanted everyone to think He was awesome.
Yes, this miracle was a proclamation of His power and His kingdom, but more than that, it was loving obedience to His mother. What Mary requests, Jesus grants.
Mary, I ask you to hear the petitions of Josh today and bring them speedily before your Son.
