Today, I thought I would share a communion prayer with you. You probably already know the Anima Christi, but it was one of my Grandfather's favorite prayers, and it's what I pray every time I receive Communion.

When I pray this prayer, I like to meditate on each line. If you never have meditated on this prayer, you definitely should.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me*
Water from the side of Christ, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Permit me not to be separated from Thee
From the malignant enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That with thy Saints I may praise Thee
Forever and ever
Amen

*This is my favorite line of any prayer, ever. You literally ask Christ to make you drunk on Him, to remove all your inhibitions, everything holding you back from full communion with Him, so that your entire being can focus completely around Him and His AWESOME LOVE. And people complain that the Catholic Church is so boring and stuffy...

Anyway, that's my meditation for the day. I'm praying for you!
